San José State University Student Council Records 1950-1980

The San José State University Student Council Records, 1950-1980 document the formation of the SJSU Student Council in 1955. The early Student Council, also known as the Associated Students, formed in 1897 as a student club. The Student Council and the Student Court served as the executive and judicial body of student government on campus. The Associated Students incorporated in 1980, and the Student Council serves as Board of Directors of the organization. The records consist of meeting minutes of the Student Council, as well as revisions to the 1959 Student Council Constitution. This collection is arranged into a single series: Series I: Student Council Meeting Minutes, 1950-1980.
